Uses of Foley Catheters
The Foley catheters are a sterile, tubular structure inserted into the bladder during the catheterization procedure. The Foley catheter is used to drain urine without requiring urinating. Most people with health issues do not feel any of their senses, and the bottom utilizes a Foley Catheter. This is because they are unaware that when they need to urinate, they cannot do so; thus, they utilize a foley catheter. This urinary catheter, also known as an indwelling catheter, may be left in place for an extended amount of time without causing any problems. On the inside, a balloon is inflated. This sterile water-filled balloon keeps the catheter from slipping out of the bladder or moving out of place. Once appropriately positioned, the urinary catheter can drain urine from the bladder into a connected drainage bag, which can then be emptied as necessary. They function in this manner.
